Game Basics & Mechanics
Game Overview
You VS Homer is an asymmetrical survival game on Roblox inspired by classic slasher-style games. Players must survive against a powerful Homer bot or take on the role of Homer to hunt down survivors.
- Asymmetrical Gameplay: One player (or bot) acts as Homer while others play as survivors (Barts).
- Survivor Goal: Hide or outrun Homer until the timer expires.
- Homer Goal: Eliminate all survivors within the time limit. Homer does not get extra time for kills, so speed is essential.
- Retro Style: The game features a classic Roblox aesthetic, focusing on simple but intense hide-and-seek mechanics.
Game Modes
Survivor Mode (Bart)
As a survivor, your objective is to stay alive until the round timer hits zero. You start with basic tools:
- Skateboard: Cosmetic item
- Torch (Flashlight): Helps you see but can reveal your position
- Snowballs: Can be used to distract or interact
Hunter Mode (Homer)
As Homer, you are faster than survivors and must eliminate all of them before time runs out. Every kill makes you physically larger, which can help block paths.
Core Mechanics
Timer System
The round has a countdown timer. Survivors win if any remain when the timer reaches zero. Homer wins by eliminating all survivors before time expires.
Currency (Quid)
Winning rounds as a survivor earns you Quid, which can be used to purchase skins, items, and upgrades in the lobby.
Voice Lines & Audio
Survivors can use Bart's iconic voice lines (like "Eat my shorts") to distract or taunt Homer. The game uses directional audio, so listen carefully for proximity cues.
Puzzle Elements
Some maps feature puzzles and interactables (like red buttons) that survivors can interact with, though their impact is subtle.
Lobby Features
Skins: Various skins are available, including 2D Bart, Emo Bot, Peter Griffin, and even a "Homer Bear". Most skins are cosmetic but some offer gameplay advantages.
Gambling/Spinners: The lobby features a "Charmy Roller" where you can spend currency to try and win new items or skins.
Obby/Parkour: There is a challenging "Tower of Hell" style obby in the lobby for players to practice their movement skills while waiting for a round. Completing it rewards 100 Quid.
