Survivor Strategies

Character Customization Meta

Choosing the right skin is not just about aesthetics; it provides a significant gameplay advantage.

The "Emo Bot" Meta

The Emo Bot skin is currently considered one of the best in the game:

  • 2D Advantage: It is a 2D skin, making it much smaller than standard models.
  • Smaller Hitbox: Its 2D nature results in a smaller hitbox, making it harder for Homer to catch you.
  • Stealth: The heart above its head is barely visible, allowing you to blend into dark corners effectively.

Summary Tip: Always prioritize using 2D skins to fit into tighter hiding spots and reduce the likelihood of being spotted or caught.

Advanced Movement Techniques

Wall Jumping

You can reach locations that Homer cannot access by wall jumping:

  • How to do it: Turn on Shift Lock, jump, and flick your view quickly while against a wall.
  • Pro Tip: You can practice this technique in the lobby before the match starts.

Taunt Speed Boost

Using the "Taunt Homer" emote actually increases your movement speed slightly, allowing you to outrun him more effectively.

Survival & Hiding Tactics

The "Door Slide" Technique

Instead of hiding deep inside a room, hide right next to the door. As Homer walks past you into the room, you can simply slide out behind him. This is especially effective against players using First-Person mode who have a limited field of view.

The "Door Juke"

When Homer is chasing you, run through a door and immediately hide in the corner behind the door frame. Many players tend to rush past the entrance, losing sight of you.

Stealth Tip (The Torch)

Avoid keeping your torch on constantly. It illuminates your position, making it easier for Homer to find you in dark maps.

Effective Hiding Spots

  • Under the Bed: In the House map, hiding under or behind the bed is a high-reward strategy.
  • The Box Strat: Hiding inside or behind boxes is one of the most effective ways to stay undetected.
  • Corner Camping: Tucking into a corner far from the main paths can give you a head start if Homer approaches.

Movement: Looping & Kiting

If Homer finds you, don't panic. You can "loop" him to waste his time.

Looping Homer: Use the environment to run in circles. A "Toxic Homer" (aggressive player) can be looped around tables or kitchen islands.

Parkour & Climbing: Homer's AI or player-controlled movement can struggle with verticality. Climbing onto furniture or using parkour to jump between obstacles can save your life.

Speed Advantage: Keep in mind that while Homer is fast, certain survivor maneuvers and tight turns can give you the edge in a chase.

Verticality: In maps like the Simpsons House, use the stairs and furniture to create distance. Jumping from the second floor to the first can confuse Homer's tracking.

Audio & Awareness

Listen Closely: The game uses directional audio. If the music gets louder or you hear Homer's signature catchphrases, he is nearby. Move immediately.

Audio Cues: Listen for Homer's proximity sounds. If the music or voice lines get louder, start moving toward a pre-planned escape route.

Voice Line Spam: Survivors can use Bart's iconic voice lines (like "Eat my shorts") to distract or taunt Homer, but be careful as this can also give away your position.

Pro Tips

  • This game is often "Survivor Sided" if you work together to distract Homer while others complete objectives or hide in dark corners.
  • Keep moving! Staying in one spot for too long makes it easier for Homer to find you, especially on smaller maps like Moe's Tavern.
  • Avoid falling from high places as it can leave you vulnerable and easily caught by Homer.
  • Practice the parkour in the lobby while waiting for a match. It helps improve your movement precision for high-stakes chases.
